Our Brand New Fire Pit

by | Oct 6, 2022 | News & Announcements

St. Stephen’s has been very lucky throughout the years to have had several Boy Scouts complete their Eagle Scout project here at St. Stephen’s. Just to name a few projects – the Hill Side facing the road, the Herb Garden, (which was just updated) by another scout. The Outdoor Altar, where we love to worship on Fall and Spring evenings.

Nick and his older brother, Bobby John, were both baptized at St. Stephen’s.  Nick, who is a member of pack #758,  also said he would like to complete his Eagle Scout project at St. Stephen’s  in memory of his grandparents William and Mary Brown who were long time members of our parish.  There is also a stained-glass window in the back of the church, as well as the stained-glass window above the entry to the Parish Hall dedicated to their memory.

The idea for a fire pit near our Outdoor Altar was proposed, and Nick was very pleased to be able to do this for his Eagle Scout Project and give something that would benefit the congregation of St. Stephen’s for many years for many years.  We look forward to using it this fall and during Advent!

Thank you Nick for a job well done!

Thank you Nick for the beautiful fire pit you built in memory of your grandparents . I know they would be so proud of you for doing this project at their beloved church. During the summer the fire pit was used by The Crofton Nursery School and The Boy Scouts. We at St. Stephen’s are looking forward to many years of outdoor evening services using the fire pit built with love and care in memory of your grandparents.
